Golf Simulator Installation in Kansas City, KS

We are golf simulator installers covering Kansas City and Wyandotte County. The install itself is usually one to two days on a residential bay once the room is ready. What decides the schedule is the room work in front of it: a duct to reroute, a circuit to add, a garage slab to level. We survey first so none of that is a surprise on install day.

Why We Survey Before We Quote

Kansas City gets a real winter, just not an endless one. cold and frozen turf take about three months out of the year, and the March and November weeks on either side are the cold, wet, low ball flight kind of golf nobody looks forward to. That's the window a simulator fills. You keep swinging through December through February, then walk onto the first tee in spring with your tempo intact instead of rebuilding it. Most of the Kansas installs we do get used hardest in January and February, which is exactly what you'd expect.

We get asked how it translates to real turf. If you play Prairie Dunes Country Club in Hutchinson, Flint Hills National in Andover, and Colbert Hills in Manhattan, the honest answer is that carry distance and start line transfer almost perfectly, and green reading does not. Plan your practice around that.

Altitude Calibration For Kansas City

Kansas City sits close to sea level at about 750 feet, which makes calibration simple. Your indoor carry numbers and your outdoor ones should line up without an altitude correction, so any gap you see is coming from something else: ball choice, mat interaction, or the launch monitor's placement. We still enter 750 during setup, because leaving the field untouched and setting it correctly are different things when you later move or upgrade the software.

Rooms We Work In Around Wyandotte County

Room work is the part of a Kansas City install that customers do not budget for and we always itemise. A sloped garage slab needs a levelled subfloor before turf goes down, or your lie angle and your readings drift in one direction forever. A bright room needs blackout treatment, which is cheaper and works better than buying a brighter projector. A concrete floor needs a subfloor regardless, because hitting off turf laid straight on concrete ends practice by February.

If you have not chosen equipment yet, start with home golf simulators or the Kansas City residential page instead, then come back for the install.

The Job, Step By Step

Commissioning is where our installs differ from most. Launch monitor calibration, altitude set to your actual elevation rather than the sea level default the software ships with, projector geometry checked against the screen, then a gapping session so you leave with your own carry numbers written down. That last step is the one most installers skip and it is the one that makes the room useful.

Field note. Blackout beats lumens. We have swapped an expensive projector into a bright room and watched it look worse than a mid range unit in a properly darkened one. Fix the light first.

Kansas City Simulator Questions

Can I use a golf simulator year round in Kansas City?

Yes. cold and frozen turf close outdoor golf around Kansas City for about three months, and the shoulder weeks in March and November are marginal at best. An indoor bay covers all of it. Most of our Kansas customers report their heaviest use falls in the exact months the courses are shut, which is what you'd want from the investment.

What altitude should I set my simulator to in Kansas City?

Use 750 feet. Simulator software defaults to sea level, and Kansas City sits well away from that, so the correction is worth making. Using the two percent per thousand feet rule of thumb, you're looking at about 1.5 percent more carry than a sea level baseline. We set this during commissioning and re-check it after software updates, because updates sometimes reset it.

How much does golf simulator installation cost in Kansas City?

It depends on two things: whether we are supplying the equipment as well as fitting it, and what the room needs before the bay goes in. Room preparation is the variable most quotes hide, so we itemise it separately. Send your Kansas City dimensions and we will price your actual space rather than quote a range that changes the moment we see it.

How far do you travel for installations?

We cover Kansas City and the wider Wyandotte County area as standard, and we schedule survey visits across Kansas most weeks. If you are outside the cities listed on this site, ask anyway. It is almost certainly still within range.

Can you fix a golf simulator install that went wrong?

Frequently, yes. Stalled builds, uncalibrated handovers, turf laid straight onto concrete, projectors that shadow the golfer. Tell us what is there and we will assess it. Sometimes the fix is small, and sometimes the room was never going to work. We will tell you honestly which one you have.
